Primarily
a representational colorist, Cynthia specializes in brightly colored
portraits of animals. She is currently working on an acrylic series
of cows and bulls, an animal fantasy series in pastels, as well as
pastel roosters, horses and ranch animals. Through Cynthia's imagination
she gives veiwers a glimpse into her world to spark their own creative
journeys. She uses color to express the excitement and wonder she
feels when she looks at life.
Cynthia has had two solo shows and won numerous awards at art shows
across the Western Slope of Colorado. Her pastel painting "Wild
Horses" was chosen by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in Woodinville,
Washington for their new wine label "14 Hands" which will
be available in March 2005. She was chosen by HorsePower New Mexico
to participate in the 2002 "Trail of the Painted Ponies"
for her design "Primarily Bull" featuring portraits of rodeo
bulls painted in primary colors on their running horse sculpture.
She is a member of the "Pastel Society of Colorado" and
won first place in their 2002 members show for her painting "Grand
Canyon Jazz". She currently has work in several galleries in
Colorado and paintings in private and corporate collections in Colorado,
Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, New York and Washington. |
